Despite losing the impressive Rogne and the capable Loovens to hamstring injuries during the game, Celtic had more than enough steel and composure to overcome Uniteds aggressive tactics. Despite hoping to unsettle the Hoops, it was the Arabs who finished the game with 9 men after a sending off and an injury after using all 3 of their substitutions. Landry NGuemo was the star man for Celtic, composed and constantly playing the correct ball while also breaking up United attacks. Scott Brown also impressed with his energy and cleverly using his annoyance factor to wind up United players, lets see if any Arabs are referred to the Panel after Brown was attacked by 2 United players in a handbag style scuffle. Up front Robbie Keane slotted his penalty away with aplomb and Fortune set up Kamara for a beautiful cut inside and a curled finish into the top left hand corner of United goal in the first half. On a wet cut up pitch Aiden Mcgeady did very well taking on the Tangerine defence, he earned the clinching penalty and can be proud of the part he played in the victory. After seeing both Darren O'Dea and Josh Thomson absent from the First XI (O'Dea onto the bench - he replaced Rogne with Thomson back to the Creche for a rest), the biggest surprise to most Celtic fans was seeing Gordon Smith appearing as a match pundit on SKY. Special award to brave wee Gordon for displaying such humility in his self praising regards his time at the SFA and well done to the ex Rangers TV presenter Ali for wearing that Royal Blue dress on the day her team were playing to win the league. Sky Sports..3 ex Rangers employees covering a Celtic game...and they say we are paranoid? Match report and Player Ratings to follow. |

over the course of the next while we'll be building up a section detailing Celtic Legends from the founding of our club onwards.
Contrary to the official Celtic poll of 2006 Celtic did have some legendary players pre-1996.
they're special. they mean something. some go a lifetime without them.
some crumble under the weight of them. gongs eh?
here we present the best of the best. ETims Awards. CLICK HERE
