By Allen PutalloThe billionaire entrepreneurial genius Sir David Murray has donated $1.8bn (Zimbabwean) to the Gates Foundation, a charity set-up to build entrances around various gardens in Govan. His most altruistic knight of the realm decided it was time to do something about the various strays and waifs running around the South Side of Glasgow. After converting his entire wealth of eight pounds and sixty-two pence into the moribund currency of the former state of Rhodesia, Sir David said he felt ‘flushed’ and had to give something back to the community who had supported him through thick and thick. ‘I don’t mean to sound arrogant or even flagrant in my hopes for this donation,’ said Sir David, ‘but I hope that this imposing sum of money goes someway to helping those who live in places with glaring openings close those dangerous gaps.’ After licking his forefinger and flattening his eyebrows, Sir David continued, ‘And moreover, some of those gateless fences are an eyesore and could drive away prospective builders of a SuperCasino.’ Local resident Senga Findlay-Russell stated that she’s never slept so soundly as to know that a man of such philanthropic means was willing to be so noble to her area. ‘Last night was the first night in twenty-years I’ve been able to sleep without the sound of junkies shooting up in the close.’ Sir David, who still holds a majority shareholding in the famous Glasgow Rangers and three-quarters of Edinburgh, is now thinking of other good causes to which he could donate his remain monies. ‘I have thought of blowing it all on a couple of Big Issues, but then again, you can’t be sure of the leanings of the seller,’ said Sir David. A good point if ever there was one. Sir David also went on to assert how this private, anonymous and selfless donation proved that rumours of a cash-flow crisis at MIM were wide of the mark. He stressed his desire for no publicity in respect to this donation, which we duly respect. |

over the course of the next while we'll be building up a section detailing Celtic Legends from the founding of our club onwards.
Contrary to the official Celtic poll of 2006 Celtic did have some legendary players pre-1996.
they're special. they mean something. some go a lifetime without them.
some crumble under the weight of them. gongs eh?
