Volare

Mas alto que el sol. Well not quite. Everyone knows by now Lenny has been desperately trying to sign Sun Campbell and agreed to give the big chap additional time off for marriage and honeymoon (yie aff yir nut big man? Just give her half your money and walk away without the hassle) before making a decision on his next port of call. Our understanding is Sun has committed to no club yet but will make a decision next week. In the meantime time stands still for no one and representatives from the club have held talks over the past fortnight with our amigo Ivan Ramis the Real Mallorca centre back. We understand Ramis is desperate to sign for Celtic and is available for a knock down price of €1.5m. With that in mind would it not make sense to sign Ramis and if possible Campbell? Just a thought if anyone drunk within the club is listening.

We enquired about Taiwo from Marseille but no joy as more than one club from the Primera Liga are looking to sign him. Before the signing of Murphy we asked about taking Gary O’Connor on loan but Eck said no although talks are ongoing with Brum about other matters.

David James in Glasgow this weekend.

Walter Smith has let it be known he would be interested in moving to Fulham. Al Fayed said it’s the first thing that has cheered him up since Ken Dodi died

Despite Bain's insistence that Rangers will look to buy a definite 2 and hopefully 3 players’, we are told they are asking for DFS terms. Nothing down in the first year. A raid on the Championship awaits and one sensational Alba Newspaper loving “scoop" of a former Celtic target has been mentioned to our mate who works in a posh Garage near Milngavie. Incidentally two other snippets of Huns news. The first concerns Danny (Bhoy) Wilson and the £5m transfer deal doing the rounds thanks to Murray’s poodles. We understand the figure is £1m up front, £1m after 50 appearances and £1m per 100 appearances thereafter up to a maximum of £5m. We anticipate Danny being a Celtic player by the time he’s 21 and well before his 50th appearance for the Reds. The other concerns Kenny Miller. We know from an impeccable source that Miller has instructed his agent to get him away from Ibrox as soon as possible with an EPL club his priority. So disillusioned with life at Mordor is Kenny that we hear he cancelled his last five tanning sessions at Perm-a-Tan on the Paisley Road. On the positive side his newly married missus and her family are over the moon that he’s leaving the Huns.

Cantare

Musica dulce tocada. There has certainly been a lot of flying going on not only in the States. In the past 24 hours we understand talks have taken place with Mexican full back Carlos Salcido about a move to the club after PSV gave their permission following agreement of a €2m transfer fee. Salcido is wanted by other clubs so this is by no means a formality but talks are taking place and if anything comes of it you’ll be the first to know.

Let’s hear a big 'Shame' for poor old Gordon Nice who must be gutted that Jim Delahunt got the Peter Martin Maguire gig at Radio Clyde. We did tell you months ago there were irons in the fire media wise but seems despite all the fire it was close but no cigar for the carbs free hair dye loving artist formerly known as Smith.

Feyenoord have made an offer for Samaras.

Ever wondered why the second most powerful man at Celtic during the McCann era has kept a very low profile with no interviews or comments to the media? We know of some people who know him from his Somerfield days. According to our man the person concerned was a regular visitor to Ibrox and could be described amongst other things an avid Hun watcher. By all accounts his company PC had almost all of the personal files labelled with famous Rangers players names, our man could go on with much, much more evidence but we’ve saved some for a rainy day. He does inform us though he would not trust him as far as he could spit, which we understand is a rather paltry four feet. His job is nothing more than securing as much salary and pension from us as possible ...nothing more. Along with PL he manages the day to day operations of the club but you wouldn't know he's there as too much publicity might have people digging into your past and then the game we understand would be up.

Talking about Fergus McCann did you see him watching the Celtic v Sporting game in the US? We hear his words to Neil Lennon during that photoshoot are not for publication in a Scottish newspaper…..if you catch our drift.

That work behind the Jock Stein stand is moving on at a pace.

Yo Sere Feliz

We are talking to Barca about taking Jeffren Suarez on a season long loan. Suarez has bags of pace, trickery and crosses a great ball. Suarez recently signed a new contract extension with the Catalan giants but it’s unlikely he will even get a place on the bench such is the strength of the Barca squad. If the deal goes through Barca will have the option to take Suarez back to the Camp Nou midway through the loan period. Staying in Spain we are also talking to their La Liga rivals Sevilla about a loan deal. This time the player concerned is Ivory Coast international Romaric. The playmaker has flitted in and out of Sevilla’s team and although keen to remain at Los Rojiblancos the opportunity of a season long move to Celtic Park may appeal to the player.

Till next time. Adios!

The Monday After Friday International Week Excuse Late Supplement Please allow me to introduce myself
I'm a man of wealth and taste
I've been around for about seven years
Stole many a man's dough and faith

I was 'round when Aiden McGeady
Had his moment of doubt and pain
Made damn sure that Spartak
Greased his hands and sealed his fate

Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name
But what's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game

I stuck around Florence Italy
When I saw it was a time to grab some change
Sealed the deal with La Viola
The Holy Goalie screamed in vain

Been called a wank
Raided your piggy bank
When the mid-years raged
And the finance stank

Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name, oh yeah
Ah, what's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, oh yeah
(woo woo, woo woo)

I watched with glee
While your trades and kings
Sold for millions made
Traded for duds instead
(woo woo, woo woo)

I shouted out,
"Who paid for Robbie Keane?"
When after all
It was you not me
(who who, who who)

Let me please introduce myself
I'm a man of wealth and taste
And I laid traps for tabloid hacks
Who get briefed before they reached Gallowgate
(woo woo, who who)

Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, oh yeah
(who who)
But what's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, oh yeah, get down, baby
(who who, who who)

Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, oh yeah
But what's confusing you
Is just the nature of my game
(woo woo, who who)

Just as every cost is criminal
But all my bonuses great
As heads is tails
Just call me Peter yeah
'Cause I'm in need of some restraint
(who who, who who)

So if you meet me
Have some courtesy
Have some sympathy, have some taste
(woo woo)
Use all your well-learned politesse
As I lay this club to waste, mmm yeah
(woo woo, woo woo)

Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, mmm yeah
(who who)
But what's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, mmm mean it, get down
(woo woo, woo woo)

Woo, who
Oh yeah, will bring ya down
Oh yeah
Oh yeah!
(woo woo)

Tell me baby, what's my name
Tell me Lenny, can ya guess my game
Tell me baby, what's my name
I tell you one time, you're to blame

Oh, who
woo, woo
Woo, who
Woo, woo
Woo, who, who
Woo, who, who
Oh, yeah

What's my name
Tell me, baby, what's my name
Tell me, sweetie, what's my name

Woo, who, who
Woo, who, who
Woo, who, who
Woo, who, who
Woo, who, who
Woo, who, who
Oh, yeah
Woo woo
Woo woo
